Steve is the Leader of Hillingdon Council and Ward Councillor for South Ruislip, having represented local residents since 2018.
A former Member of Parliament for Uxbridge & South Ruislip and Parliamentary Private Secretary in Kemi Badenoch’s Department for Business & Trade, Steve brings experience from both local and national government to the leadership of the council.
Before becoming Leader, Steve served as Chairman of Hillingdon’s Planning Committee and later as Cabinet Member for Planning, Housing and Economic Growth, overseeing major decisions affecting the borough’s future and helping drive investment, regeneration and responsible development across Hillingdon.
As Leader of the Council, Steve is focused on strong financial management, protecting frontline services, supporting residents, and ensuring the council delivers in a disciplined, sustainable and accountable way. He is committed to keeping Hillingdon a borough that is well-run, ambitious for the future, and responsive to the needs of local people.
