Philip has lived in Ruislip since 1970 and was first elected to Hillingdon Council in 1993. He is a well known local representative and energetic community campaigner taking a keen interest in planning and development matters particularly within Ruislip’s Conservation Area, as well as the regeneration of Ruislip High Street, Ruislip Woods management, and local policing.
Since 2016 he has also taken a leading role in the local Flood Liaison Action Groups which from May 2022 has also included the FLAG groups for North Ruislip, working with residents and partner organisations to build local flood resilience, as well as having a constructive relationship with the Friends of Pinn Meadows, where he supports other resident volunteers.
He has been instrumental in driving the development of the Ruislip Safer Neighbourhood Team ward panel working with the Metropolitan Police and community representatives. Recently he has also been playing a key role liaising with residents over measures to improve the management of Ruislip Lido at the height of summer.
Philip for many years held cabinet responsibility for services including social services, health, housing and environment, and more recently has been involved in scrutinising these services at Select Committee meetings. He regularly meets residents and is a great believer in partnership with the local community and other stakeholders to improve services and enhance our local living environment.
In the municipal year of 2025/26, Philip will serve as Mayor of the London Borough of Hillingdon.
