Cllr Becky Haggar has been an elected councillor in Eastcote (and formerly Eastcote & East Ruislip ward) since May 2014. Her passion in supporting others shows in her work within the community.
Becky has served on various Hillingdon Council committees including being Carers’ Champion, chair of the licencing committee, vice chair education committee, and board member of the fostering panel. At present she sits on the board of the health and social care select committee where she supports the team in playing a crucial role in overseeing and shaping health and social care in the borough.
Her passion is in the areas of disability and hardship: she sources advice and assists in resolving issues. In addition to her Council work, she is the co -founder, CEO and development manager of the Hillingdon Brain Tumour and Injury Group charity, established in 2009. Within her charity work she has supported and encouraged hundreds of people in their journey of coping with their disability. She is passionate about enabling and providing a future no matter what disability a person may possess.
Becky is also a fitness instructor, and is qualified in diet and nutrition, and is enthusiastic about promoting and enabling healthy lives. Prevention of ill health and and working towards good health is a top priority, coupled with a passion around the environment and keeping Eastcote environmentally friendly.
Becky is very much a people person, she is proactive and listens to her community. She works with local residents’ groups, including on the Pembroke Park Estate. Her passion also lies within the preservation of Eastcote, especially around Eastcote House Gardens, its horticulture and history, and making sure we keep the origins and history of Eastcote alive.
Becky was Mayor of Hillingdon in 2022/23 and received an OBE for her dedicated work within the council and the community.
