Hillingdon East is a vibrant ward in the heart of Hillingdon, offering a mix of parks and open spaces such as Court Park, Pole Hill Park, Elephant Park, and Knights Gardens. The local economy thrives on small shopping parades, including Hillingdon Circus, Uxbridge Road, Sutton Court Road, and Ryefield Avenue Parade. The ward is also home to a range of educational institutions, including Oak Wood School, Swakeleys Girls' School, and St Helen’s College.

Cllr Wayne BRIDGES, Cllr Kelly MARTIN, and Cllr Colleen SULLIVAN have a strong track record of delivering for Hillingdon East residents.

Regenerating Local Shopping Parades:

  • Secured investment for the Sutton Court Road and Hillingdon Circus regeneration projects.
  • A new road layout and introduced "Stop and Shop" in Sutton Court Parade, to address double-parking issues.
  • Christmas lights to brighten up local shopping parades.

Enhancing Parks and Open Spaces:

  • Continuously finding new spots for tree planting in the ward.
  • Volunteered in projects, such as the "Trees for Cities" project at Court Park.
  • Significant investment to prevent flooding at Elephant Park, protecting nearby homes while enhancing the park’s landscape and wildlife.

Supporting Community and Voluntary Groups:

Allocated funding through the Councillors’ Ward Budget Initiative:

  • £2,000 for portable floodlights for Hillingdon Abbotts FC.
  • £1,000 for play equipment for North Hillingdon Toddler Group.
  • £300 for a King’s Coronation tea party at All Saints Church.
  • £900 to support SEND events for Christmas 2023 and summer 2024.
  • £2,000 to St Mary's Ukrainian School based at Oak Wood School to support activities for children displaced by war.

Resident Engagement:

  • Staying connected with residents through meetings, phone calls, emails, and virtual appointments.
  • Regularly walk around the ward to spot and address issues.
  • Hold Street Surgeries across the area and monthly sessions at Oak Farm Library.
  • Work with groups like the Oak Farm Residents’ Association by attending monthly meetings to update residents and answer questions.
  • Collaborate with the Safer Neighbourhood Team and meet with local police.
  • Use Councillor call-in powers to review planning applications that might harm residents.
