At Hillingdon Council’s AGM on Thursday 14th May, Cllr Steve Tuckwell was appointed Leader of the Council, with Cllr Richard Mills as his Deputy Leader.
Addressing the Full Council Meeting, Cllr Tuckwell thanked the residents of Hillingdon for their overwhelming support in last week's Council elections and set out clear priorities for his administration. These included a commitment to retaining Hillingdon’s weekly bin collections as well as a renewed focus on enforcement across the Borough on those who commit anti-social behaviour and look to blight our community. Bringing increased scrutiny to the Council’s audit and finance function, as well as taking even further steps to implement and regulate HMOs in Hillingdon.
Following his appointment, Cllr Tuckwell commented, “I am honoured to lead the Borough that I call home. My Cabinet and I will deliver for this Borough and honour the commitments made to residents in our election messages. We will operate at pace and take decisions that are in the best interests of our whole community.”
