Hillingdon Labour Abandon Local Charities

Labour's broken promises...

Despite widespread concerns from Hillingdon's charities, businesses, and social care providers, Labour's Cllr Sital Punja has shockingly dismissed legitimate warnings about the damaging impact of the Labour Government’s employer NI hike. By rejecting claims that these tax increases will harm vulnerable residents and put essential services at risk, Cllr Punja has exposed Labour’s dangerous disregard for the well-being of our community.

A Hillingdon Conservative source said: 'I was shocked when Cllr Punja openly dismissed valid concerns from local charities about the devastating effects of this NI hike on those who depend on their support.'

Punja, a North Ruislip resident who represents the Yiewsley ward, continued to berate local charities and businesses with a tirade of poorly thought-out political soundbites that offered no practical solutions. She said that most small businesses wouldn’t feel the impact and need to build their resilience if they were concerned and her remarks reveal a shocking detachment from the real challenges faced by families, support groups, and local employers in Hillingdon.

This is yet another example of Labour putting reckless ideology above the needs of ordinary people. At a time when leadership is needed to protect jobs and vital services, Labour’s punitive policies and dismissive rhetoric are failing our community. Hillingdon deserves leaders who listen to residents, stand up for vulnerable groups, and champion policies that support, not punish, the people who make our borough thrive.
