Tonight the Hillingdon Labour Group waged war against residents over the age of 70 across our Borough, wanting to more than double the increase in Council tax paid by those pensioners to fund bureaucratic processes and investigations that will deliver no tangible outcomes to the services we provide to our residents.
Cllr Ian Edwards, Conservative Leader of Hillingdon Council commented “Fortunately for the residents of Hillingdon, we have prevented this callous Labour proposal from progressing. We stand by our elderly residents who contribute greatly to our communities. The idea to lump an additional 4.6% Council Tax increase on our over 70s at what is already a challenging time is quite staggering and shows Hillingdon Labour’s nastiness.
Hillingdon Conservatives will continue to put all residents first and ensure that facilities and services are delivered across the length of our Borough to the high standards our residents expect and have become well accustomed to.”
