Hillingdon Conservatives have retained control of Hillingdon Council following last week’s local elections, increasing their majority and returning 30 Conservative councillors across the Borough, with two further seats set to be contested in the Hillingdon West by-election next month.
The result represents a strong endorsement of the Conservative administration’s record in Hillingdon, including protecting weekly bin collections, standing up for outer London residents, tackling the spread of inappropriate HMOs, investing in local services and keeping council tax among the lowest in outer London.
Councillor Ian Edwards, Leader of Hillingdon Council, thanked residents for their continued support and praised local campaigners and councillors across the Borough.
“Firstly, I want to say a huge thank you to everybody who supported Hillingdon Conservatives in the local election this week.
We are delighted that residents have once again placed their trust in us to lead Hillingdon Council, and that we have increased our majority.
Now the election is over, our focus is simple, getting on with the job of delivering for residents, protecting the local services people rely on, and standing up for Hillingdon.
That work will not always be easy, particularly with both the Labour Government and the Mayor of London often working against the interests of outer London boroughs like ours, but we will continue to fight for Hillingdon and always put residents first.”

The election also saw voters reject attempts by Reform UK to take control of the council, despite repeated national attention on Hillingdon during the campaign.
Hillingdon Conservatives say the result gives the administration a clear mandate to continue delivering on local priorities over the next four years, including protecting neighbourhood services, defending the Borough’s character and ensuring residents remain at the heart of decision making.
